Our corner of London is filled with fantastic days out for families. From fun activities to beautiful scenic walks. With Easter right around the corner, we’ve compiled a list of great family outings in and around our favourite spots in South West London.Attend a theatre production at the Polka.
The Wimbledon-based company is performing ‘Chicken Licken’ from Saturday the 5th of April until Sunday the 11th of May. Appropriate for children above the age of 3, with friends and family welcome too!
The show is a theatre adaptation of the movie Chicken Little, where the sky is falling and the brave chicken needs to save the day with the help of his friends. With live songs, puppetry and music, this show is sure to be a great day out.
Join in the fun at Kew Gardens.
Join Supertato, the world’s strongest potato, who will be teaching kids how fruits and veggies grow by engaging in fun hands-on activities. The character, based on the best-selling books and popular TV show, encourages kids to join him and help tackle the Evil Pea. He will be at Kew Gardens from the 5th of April until the 21st of April- so be sure not to miss him!
Hop into Easter favourites.
If veggies aren’t your thing- perhaps a cup of tea with the Easter Bunny might be?
Isleworth Bowling Club are organising an afternoon tea with the one and only Easter Bunny on Sunday the 20th of April. The event runs from 12pm until 2pm and includes a bouncy castle, Easter egg hunt and even a special gift from the Bunny himself.
Spend a day with horses.
Head over to The Wimbledon Village Stables to delight in quality time with the horses - whether you are an experienced rider or have never ridden before, you can enjoy the presence of the beautiful creatures surrounded by nature. The little ones can feed the horses, and if they fancy riding, the Village Stables offer simulator classes which are safe and fun.
Find fun on the farm
Deen City Farm is a family favourite for many in South West London, and is another great option if you’ve got big animal lovers in your household. Located in Merton, families can meet and feed the animals as well as enjoy the garden and the playground. The charity is open for meet and greets with the animals from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, so be sure to give them a visit.
Pick your place for a picnic
If animals are not your cup of tea - how about a family picnic at Wimbledon Park? Enjoy the large green open space with the sounds of nature and embrace some fresh air with your favourite snacks and take advantage of spending quality time with the whole family.
