Loney Miller Loves: transitional seasonal interior design trends of 2025.

Published: 03/02/2025 By LONEY MILLER

While we are LOVING the big and bold trends forecasted for the year ahead, when it comes to interior design, there’s nothing quite like classic and timeless.

So… we’ve delved into all the predicted colours, textures and furniture trends that we think will be here to stay. Trends you can take from winter into spring, spring into summer and beyond. Let’s dive in!

Earthy Tones

While earthy tones are nothing new, they are making their way back into our homes in a big way. This doesn’t just mean greens and browns. Earthy tones can span from teal to mustard yellow and dusky pink to terracotta. You could go all out and make a statement by lime-washing a whole room in sage green or simply using subtle nods in your bed linen or with cushions and throws in the living room.

Glassware and Metals

Not all interior trends have to cost a fortune, and this one is a perfect example of little pieces making a huge difference. The tables are turning and functional, simple, effective home accessories are making a comeback.

Glassware is set to go back to the basics. No more will your cabinets be full to the brim with all different shapes and sizes; just your classic cups, flutes (and shots!).

The same goes for tableware. Porcelanosa says “cooler silver and chrome accessories in living rooms and bedrooms add visual interest and work well with this year’s colour trends”, and we couldn’t agree more. Whether it’s a simple dining cutlery set or a sleek and shiny candelabra centerpiece; silver, chrome and steel are classic, beautiful, statement pieces that last a lifetime.

Clay and ceramics

Elle stated “the use of ceramics and clay shows no signs of slowing down, as designers continue to embrace their organic appeal.” Clay is a wonderful way to embrace natural form in the home. While you may immediately think of trinket bowls and maximalist vases, there are some brilliant ways of incorporating clay to make a longer-lasting impact in your home.

For example, clay and ceramic tiles are making a big comeback, and there are many small businesses you can find that make bespoke colours and textures or even vintage wholesale clay tiles, if you look hard enough.

If you’re looking for smaller pieces, take a look at some of these local makers’ clay creations, could you see these in your home?

At-home wellness spaces

Since COVID, we’ve seen the return of at-home workspaces become a standard feature in our homes since many of us now work remote or hybrid jobs. This can sometimes make home feel like work and vice versa.

Which is why we welcome the idea of at-home wellness spaces. Your personal sanctuary. You could go “full whack” and build in a sauna and ice bath, but here are a few simpler ways to make your relaxation space feel more zen:
  • Water reflection features or sunrise lamps
  • Your favourite candles, incense or wax melts
  • Cosy reading nooks (with all the cushions and throws)
  • Fireplaces or wood burners
  • Your favourite artwork or colours on your walls
  • Music - switch on  your record player, radio or speaker

Return to classic furniture

One of the trends that is going to be everywhere this year is vintage furniture. Not only is it a sustainable winner, but it’s a trend that spans eras and seasons.

You don’t need to install your Nan’s old coral pink bathroom set (although this is some power move in our personal opinion!), just selecting a few statement pieces of furniture can make a room feel that little bit more curated and styled.

Here are just a few incredible local antique sellers and markets for you to explore if you’re in our area of South West London:
Bermondsey Vintage Furniture Flea Market
